Lisburn Gaming League progress overall

So with 2 games down I was sitting nicely on top of the league at the time of originally typing this , but over the weekend just passed Ciaran and Nathan played and Ciaran jumped to the top of the table. Damn him for stealing my short lived thunder...

But whether or not that my rise and holding of a top place (top 3) continues is in the hands of fate as I'm continuing to try out some random lists I've had sitting around. Below is the current league table (Including some new players who signed up since my previous post):

So still early enough on for a lot to change, some players have got their half way mark of 3 games played, a fair few on 2 game splayed and lots of 1 gamers. So what is the plan?

Well it’s the usual, try not to lose, play people I don’t normally play for more learning experience and test out lists. Competition wise there are a few still in a good position like me, such as Johnny on 2 for 2, Andy on the same (Orks and nids respectively) then there are a couple of players on a 1 played 1 win number, but that’s a bit early to include as they have catch up games to play.

Also I’ve my game number 3 planned for this weekend vs. Dante and his Blood Angels so I’m hoping to try a few units out I’ve not used before then put up an article about them and how they can do. Sadly though the league does have its downsides, since it’s a challenge system people are not really asking for games on the forums and keeping to those they know.

While this is fair enough it does limit the available opponents for people like me and Rowan (Ignore his only game bing a draw, he played Jonny, ''Da Kaptain'' Fisher who is a really tough match, so thats brave and commendable of him) who want hard games as some of the others don’t like playing hardball and prefer games on their own level.  Now I’m not saying this is wrong, so no offence is intended, but playing harder matchups is half the fun for me as I learn more than a simple walk in and win game (Again not saying I’m something special, just like a hard fought game) but I know not everyone thinks the same so its just an opinion.

But I digress; I’m hoping to retry some units I haven’t used in a long time as well as trying to see how much long range firepower a guard army really can pile into it for the points.  Roll on Saturday for my first marine opponent of the league!

Also it’s nice to see such variety in the league, and such a spread of points for the army types with no one army type yet racing ahead of the others.
