Assault on Arkham Autumn Annihilation done and dusted

And what a great event! I loved it from the moment I set foot in the door chatting to guys I hadn't seen since the ETC right up to the slightly delayed prize giving, and i even won 2 prizes, one for bloodiest battle... bah humbug (I'll explain more on this in the game review) and a random set of dice from a put your hand in the bag and pull a prize which I donated to the lovely Mr Quigley.

I managed to finish 4th out of 26 at the event with only 3 points off 3rd place with a very satisfying 4 Wins and 1 Loss, though I’m still annoyed with the loss... but this is aimed at myself and not my opponent. I'll explain again in the relevant battle report section.

1st  Scott with Mech Orks
2nd Paul Quigley with  Dark Eldar
3rd Gary with Grey knights

And club / Army type break down (Gogo guard!)

(Pictures taken from AJ's blog HERE he was also at the event learning how to manage one)

...So this was my second Arkham tourney and I’m gaining a routine it seems. I win my first 2 games and then have to lose on game 3 by being tabled (By Scott no less both times!) meaning come day 2 I fly out of the stocks and plough in two more wins. I'm not complaining though as it seems to be improving each Arkham tourney, as the first time I got 5th (Using Grey knights), next event I'm going for 3rd!

The venue as always is a good big space with loads of tables, free tea and coffee and cookies etc throughout the day which is a nice plus in my books. Add in the great guys who run the place working with Jonny 'I run a bloody good tourney' Fisher and you have one of the top events going. I don't think I've a bad thing to say about any of the tourneys he's run, and at most my best complaint is I didn't like some of the terrain setups on the tables... but even that's a minor personal thing!

For the event itself I'm aiming to do an article per round with a final article talking about my hard learned lessons. But overall the blob can fight and it can win Vs a variety of opponents as I've found out.

I think I’m going to continue to refine the blob list and take to future tourneys, the pictures from the games alone will show you how awesome it looks on the field!
