I was musing over making a partial mech list which centred on Blobs and added in some heavy support and finally ended up with this list for a first draft. Not the best I'll be honest but it actually looks like there could be potential.

So what do we have? 4 chimeras which can move forward and support the blobs, or sit back and guard the Deathstrikes, 3 Deathstrikes for the fun kill factor, although I'm pretty sure if we swapped these to manticores it would have more reliable results (But would they be as fun?) 3 decent size blobs who walk forward and tarpit or bubblewrap, a fair amount of meltagun units (the blobs, al three PCS and CCS), although I’m wondering if it’s worth swapping the PCS and CCS meltas for lascannons for some more long range punch to the army.
Marbo drops in and blows up something which could be harassing our lines or just causes hassle late game (depending when he arrives).
This list also takes away the usual heavy weapons I’m going used to in the blobs meaning there is no error sitting back and shooting with them over moving forward when I should be, thus their role is clearly defined as a move and intercept / keep other elements safe. I could save points dropping their meltaguns down to GL's but again I wonder if that would affect their performance and allow more people to want to tank shock them.
